Thanksgiving Song

"Oh, I'm glad I'm not a turkey,
A turkey, a turkey,
Oh, I'm glad I'm not a turkey
on Thanksgiving day.

They'll stuff you,
Then bake you,
And then they all taste you,
Oh, I'm glad I'm not a turkey
on Thanksgiving day!"

Kindergarten Halloween Party!

The whole school paraded through the gymnasium in their costumes.
There was a festive assembly that featured songs that the kids learned in music class.
And then later that day, the Halloween party!

Anna and Arica

The class got to pop balloons.

And played pin the eye on the monster.

They enjoyed all the treats!

Birthday Boy (part 2)

We took the birthday boy to Fritz's!!!
It was fun to watch all the trains and especially when the train brought our food.

So, what do you think happens when you put Micaiah in a room full of trains?

It was really fun and interesting.
There is something for everyone at this train exhibit.

And what did Micaiah get for his birthday???
A wooden train set of course!

And here are Anna and Micaiah at the pumpkin patch.

And thats the end of Micaiah's 3rd birthday celebration!

Birthday Boy (part 1)

October 24th, 2011
Micaiah's 3rd birthday!!!
Grandpap came out for a visit!!!
The last time Grandpap saw him was on his first birthday, so this was a great treat.
Though Anna asked him to stay until her birthday in February.

We enjoyed an evening at the Louisburg Cider Mill.
Our family tradition of enjoying cider donuts and cider were topped off this year with fireworks!
It was great because for some random reason Micaiah really wanted to see fireworks.
They burned a scarecrow which set off fireworks.  So fun for his birthday.

His birthday cake : chocolate cake with chocolate icing and M&Ms
served with mint chocolate chip ice cream!!!  :)

They used to live in Kansas City but have moved to Joplin, MO.
It was a great to spend time with them again.
We met up with them at the Great Wolf Lodge.
We enjoyed hanging out and
Anna had a lot of fun having a sleepover party with Jenna.

Friday Favorites

Mama's Friday Favorites!

1.) Cleaning - yes, I know it is a bit weird to enjoy cleaning,
but it puts me in a good mood to get everything sanitized, reorganized, and tidy to start the weekend.

2.) Consigning!!!
Its nice to clean out the closets and make some money!
This season I made $100!
Now thats another reason to go shopping!

3.) Fisher Price shopping cart
I found a kid-sized plastic shopping cart in great condition for $4 at the local Goodwill!
Goes great with the kids' kitchen set/grocery store.
Now how do I keep them from fighting over it??!

4.) Halloween Zumba fun
Putting together music and choreo for some fun times this month!

5.) FRIDAY NIGHTS!!!
Friday nights are PIZZA night.
And after the kids go to bed, Brian and I usually watch a movie together.

Anna's Friday Favorites!

1.) Fridays are Mystery Reader days for Anna's Kindergarten class!!!
Every Friday, a parent comes in to read to the class.
Brian did it just the other week and had lunch with her.

2.) Treasure Box treats!
Every Friday, if they have had good behavior for the week without having
to move her clothespin at school, Anna gets to pick a treat from the treasure box!

3.) If the weather is nice, we go to the playground every Friday after school.

4.) If Anna has had good behavior for the week and we're not too busy,
Friday nights are nail polish nights.
We usually do it at home, but the other week I gave her a real treat and took her to a nail salon.
She really enjoyed that.

5.) Today is Friday and Anna had no school...so she is taking a nap!!! :)

Our Kindergartener!

Anna is enjoying Kindergarten at Broken Arrow Elementary with her teacher Miss Brush.
Here she is on the first day of school in the classroom.
Anna likes to do homework!
She is so excited to read and looks for sight words everywhere.
She also likes to practice handwriting and sounding out and spelling words.
Her most recent favorite word to write is Micaiah's name.
Anna likes to pack her lunch with peanut butter and jelly.  (of course)
And every Friday she looks forward to picking a treat from the treasure box.

I am so proud of you Anna!!!  Love Mama

Scooters and Rock Climbing

We spent Labor Day grilling out and playing at Antioch Park.

Here is Anna enjoying riding a scooter for the first time.

And they both had fun climbing the rock with Papa.

Here are a few cute pics of Anna:

(there are none of Micaiah because he didn't want his picture taken)

Pa. orders 65,000 to evacuate flood zone

Here is a news article about my hometown in Pennsylvania.
(Pa. orders 65,000 to evacuate flood zone)

They're being bombarded with rain from the tropical storm Lee.
The flooding will be historic, as the water from New York and up states will flow down the Susquehanna River.

I am thinking of all my family and friends that are there.
Hoping and praying for the best for you.

An Outdoor Adventure!

The weather has been so beautiful here the past week or so.
Last weekend we took the kids on an all day outdoor adventure.
We spent the day at Shawnee Mission Park.
This was Anna and Micaiah's first time canoeing!

Yes, I looked like a little kid with the life preserver on.
And I had just ran 2 miles right before we went canoeing,
so I started to feel sick while on the water.
Thankfully, we took PB&J's with us and had lunch on the water.

After canoeing, we took them bike (or trike) riding.
This was Anna's first time riding her new Hello Kitty bike with a bell.
And Micaiah's first time trying to trike.
He's just so short that he is just now able to touch the peddles.

Worlds of FUN! (Part 1)

Our trip to Worlds of Fun on August 14th!
We spent most of the day at Planet Snoopy.
Micaiah was apprehensive at first, but
by the time we were ready to leave he was hugging Charlie Brown.

One of Anna's favorites is the carousel.
Here is Micaiah on his favorite the train ride.

Our kids are thrill seekers!!!
They enjoyed riding on the caterpillar kiddie roller coaster.

If you look closely, you can see Micaiah's little hands sticking up in the air.

Anna and Lucy

Before and After

Yes, Anna enjoyed riding the Sea Dragon.
It is like the Pirate Ship.
After the first ride, she told me it gave her butterflies in her tummy.
And then she wanted to do it again to see if she could put her hands up in the air!
