January Sledding Fun!

A week ago on January 20th, we got 4-6 inches of snow!
Brian and I took the kids on our first family sledding adventure!!!
(all the other times before this one, Micaiah did not last more than 5 minutes)
We hit the hills of the Shawnee Mission Park and stayed out until the sun went down.
They both loved riding in the big snow tube.

The second best winter exercise (besides Zumba) is definitely sledding!!

Anna really enjoys sledding and having snowball fights.
She has pretty good aim too!
Anna and I had a lot of fun trying to make it the whole way down the hill in the snow tube.

Micaiah enjoyed the snow...until he got it in his face.
He was throwing it up in the air and when it landed on his face,
he got upset and sat down in the snow.

A Bright Future

Anna asked me the other day, "when is Grandma coming again to see us?"
I told her we would have to ask her.
With a big smile and puppy dog like eyes she asked, "is she going to come for my birthday?"

To Anna, her birthday is even better than Christmas!!!
Now don't get me wrong, she had an absolute blast at Christmas.
The funny thing is that even before the holiday, she was talking about her next birthday...
...the big 5!
She is so excited for what the next year in her life will bring!!!
It makes me so happy to see her excited in anticipation for her future.
I am so thankful for her and for the bright future that seems to reflect from her heart and eyes!
I pray that the Lord will guide her way and that He would reveal to her the desires of His heart.

We're thinking of you Grandma and look forward to seeing you again.

Short and Sweet!

It has been over a month since my last post!!!
The holidays were very busy and now life is starting to slow down again for us.
I look forward to catching up this blog this month...especially with these snow days we keep having.

For now, here are Anna and Micaiah's holiday portraits.
One is short and the other is sweet.
ENJOY!
